Imperial Collection Golden Snow vodka has been produced in 2003 in honor of the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg.
The basis of this incredibly fine vodka is wheat distillate of the highest possible quality, crystal clear water from Lake Ladoga and linden flower extract. Imperial Collection Golden Snow Vodka has been passed 5 stages of spirit distillation and multiple stage purification through the cardboard filters, activated carbon columns and kieselguhr. Imperial Collection Golden Snow is the only vodka in the world filtered through membrane gold-threaded filters. The subtle flavour, smoothest taste and crystal purity of this vodka are exceptional.
The fairy name of this spirit is not accidental. Shaking the bottle gently we launch the magic – fascinating show of falling golden snow. This beautiful visual effect is created by adding to the vodka 23-carat golden flakes.
The tradition of putting the golden flakes to the alcohol beverages comes from 14th century, when the reputed doctor and physician Arnaldus de Villa Nova created the healing balm for the pope Clement V blending the strong herbal liqueur with golden scales. Later in the 16th century this recipe was improved and the famous Goldwasser Danziger Liqueur with golden flakes has appeared in Poland.
During the Grand Embassy – Russian Tsar Peter I the Great visited the city of Danzig and became the true fan of unusual spirit. From that moment the beverage with golden flakes had been constantly delivered to the court of Russian Emperor, who strongly believed that a precious metal purifies the spirit from harmful impurities.
The medical properties of native golden flakes to the human health was discussed and analysed by many scientists. The modern medicine approves that 23-carat golden flakes are non-toxic to humans and pass through the digestive tract unchanged.
